Title: Tuesday trivia
Description: in the Palmetto state of mind

JohnCBoy - September 19, 2006 12:20 PM (GMT)
In the mid 1960s, Palmetto State lead singer Jack Pittman left the quartet for a short time. During this time, he was replaced by a man that went on to become a member of one of the top gospel quartets of that time.

Who is the man that replaced Jack Pittman in the Palmetto State Quartet?

Without anything to go on except your question, is Jack Toney correct?

JohnCBoy - September 19, 2006 01:46 PM (GMT)
No sir, Jack Toney sang with a lot of groups, but not PSQ.

Jack was probably with an unknown little group called the Statesmen at that point in time! :P

Lavern Tripp?

JohnCBoy - September 19, 2006 02:12 PM (GMT)
That's it, Ben! Laverne was a member of PSQ for a short time while Jack P. was off the road.

He soon joined the Blue Ridge Quartet and wrote several of the top gospel songs from the early 1970s.
