Description: those boys from Florida

The Florida Boys have been constantly active in gospel music longer than any other group that is currently on the circuit. The Chuck Wagon Gang may have been around longer, but they have also had quite a few years of inactivity.
What was the original name used by this great quartet from Pensacola prior to becoming known as "The Florida Boys"?

The Florida Boys are doing a great job today. I've watched them for years, and can never remember them sounding better. Yeah, Ben. . . even better than with Coy!

I agree with all the previous replies that the present group has an awesome sound is the strongest line-up ever. I also agree with Ben that the Coy Cook era produced a good sound. E-music has the a 45 song album for download that I think came from the Songs of Faith albums during the 60s.
I also have to say that even the line-up had a country sound, my favorite line-up is the Tommy Atwood, Les, Glen, Billy Todd, and Darrel group. Tommy sang with such passion and sincerity. He is doing some solo work in South Alabama now. I also like the fact that the Tommy/Billy Todd era featured the all the members of the group singing and providing their own band at the same time. Other SG groups should try this.

The first group of Florida Boys I ever heard was the Tommy/Billy group.
Les has always put out a quality product. . . solid gospel!
