The group pictured below was known as the "Happy Two". Their novelty act was quite entertaining, and gospel fans loved them.

This is a three part question:

Who were the members of the Happy Two?

What was the phrase used to describe them?

What radio program will feature a segment about the Happy Two this weekend?

Lee Roy Abernathy and Carroll E. "Shorty" Bradford....

" the world's only two man quartet" ...

and, just a guess on this, lol...

The Southern Styles Show! :D

The Queen of the North comes through with a brilliant answer!

Great job, Chicky!

You gonna be listening tomorrow??

Is that the first time in history that Canadians on this board were the first to come up with the correct answers two days in a row? Pretty amazing since neither question had anything do with pucks or Mounties. :D

John, your Remembering Gospel Music History segment on the Southern Styles Show tomorrow featuring these two gentlemen is just incredible. It's amazing to listen to them and have to keep remembering it is only 2 men singing. I can't wait until our listeners hear this!

I can remember when we were approaching Ellis Aud. in Memphis, Tn. at The NQC in the early 60s, it looked sooo strange to see a BIG bus turning the corner with Lee Roy Abernathy driving-on the side- TWO MAN QUARTET

I've been kinda busy lately so missed the news on that concert. I'll see if I can arrange to be there and if so will look for you. Assume I might see you at one of the product tables.

CanChik - October 21, 2006 03:34 AM (GMT)
Norm, I may be around the Torchmen table a bit, but it's actually a family night for me...we are taking my parents, so I won't be schmoozing much, lol.
