Does anyone here have a good recipe for banana pudding? I'm craving some.

The way I make mine is to take the vanilla pudding mix, not the instant kind, the kind you cook. I don't have exact amounts, but I just use less milk(maybe half the amount it calls for, I can't remember, sorry)and when it's thick, I add a can of Eagle Brand milk and then a little Cool Whip. Just layer your vanilla wafers, bananas, pudding, and then layer them again until you've used it all. I try to end up with pudding on top and then put Cool Whip on top and maybe crush a few vanilla wafers. I know this isn't the old fashioned kind, but it's good.

If you're in a hurry, you can just use instant pudding and throw it all together. If you want it the old fashioned way, I don't remember.... :giggle: I do remember you put egg whites on top like a pie and cook it.

Doesn't surprise me one bit that you use the kind of vanilla pudding that you have to cook instead of that nasty instant kind.

There's nothing better than the "old fashioned" way, Miss Patti. You have made my mouf water! :pup face:

When I worked in a restaurant, we sold buckets of banana pudding. Our recipe was simple. Get some of that nasty Rich's predone frozen vanilla pudding, thaw it, cut up a bunch of bananas, crush up a bunch of vanilla wafers, stir it all together, and put some fake whipped cream on the top.

Not sure why it sold so well, because it was rather nasty but would do in a pinch.
