Description: the replacements
JohnCBoy - October 26, 2006 01:12 PM (GMT)
Who replaced Jim Boatman as bass singer for Rosie Rozell and the Searchers?
Ben Pegues - October 26, 2006 01:21 PM (GMT)
No one could really replace Boatman when he was with The Searchers!!
JohnCBoy - October 26, 2006 01:54 PM (GMT)
Ya know, Irving isn't far from Garland. Some little girl from Texas may be coming over to kick your tail! :cowboy:
Mark Stephens - October 26, 2006 02:59 PM (GMT)
I think I know the answer to this but can't remember his name!! Is it the one who sang some with the Hee Haw quartet, and Whitey Gleason, and the other Texas quartet, not the quartet with Pollard, the other one?
Boy am I brain dead this morning
And didn't Gerald Williams get a call from the Searchers but declined the job or something like that?
popsy - October 26, 2006 03:56 PM (GMT)
Gerald Williams ?? and sometimes later, Joel Duncan ??

John, you are so right....Garland is not very far from Irving, and I know I will be seeing Mr. Ben at a "singing" Saturday night. He is being very brave! <smile>!
Mark, it was my favorite living bass singer and recent inductee into the SGMA Hall of Fame, Gerald Williams!! He made one album with Rosie and the Searchers. We all call it "Lighthouse" because of the picture on the front however, the actual title is "Ovation". It is a great album, imho. I mean c'mon it has my favorite tenor singer, my favorite bass singer, and a Hammond Organ! That is evermore hard to beat! <smile>!
And Ben, Gerald did an extremely wonderful job of "replacing" Boatman.....at least in the singing aspect...though we all know Gerald was never nor will ever be a "gangster type" (like most of your personal favorites!) like Boatman was! <smile>!

Nobody can answer a question quite like Miss Texas! :D

Especially if it includes "my favorite living bass singer and recent inductee into the SGMA Hall of Fame".
Gangster types???? In gospel music - say it ain't so.
