Since we are changing the time today, I thought changing times would be a nice theme for our question.
Who were the members of the Oak Ridge Boys when they changed from the gospel music field to the country music field?
James Moore - October 29, 2006 03:24 PM (GMT)
They changed from gospel to country(sorry they did too) in 1977.
their members were Joe Bonsall,Duane Allen, William Lee Golden, Richard Sterban, Garland Craft.

John...man you did a wonderful job on the picture...ever thought about doing that for as a career.. Charlie might be able to use you..

Sorry, Popsy. Wish I could claim that as my own creation, but it came from another big Oaks fan.
. . . and James, you are correct! Mark Ellerbee (drums) and Don Breland (bass) were also in that group. I think they had a guitarist, but I can't recall his name. Where's quartetman when you need him!
James Moore - October 29, 2006 07:26 PM (GMT)
Was John Rich their steel guitarist and lead player at that time?
JohnCBoy - October 29, 2006 11:37 PM (GMT)
I think John had already left the group. If memory serves me right, he joined the Rambos.
Here's a picture taken about the time of their last gospel recording. I believe the guitarist in this picture is B. Lowery.

Thinking back now, you`re right.
