Pictured below is a group known as the Vanguards. This talented group featured many intricate harmonies and arrangements.
The leader of the group was a noted singer and song writer. He spent time with the Rangers Trio and the Rebels prior to forming the Vanguards.
Who is he?

I discovered this group a few years ago. They had some great arrangements. Their bass singer was not super low, but he could sing modern harmony.

David Ingalls wrote some good songs too, my favorite is "Now I Have Everything".

The Vanguards had a great sound!
Back when I had a lot more patience than I have now, I transcribed and arranged some of David Ingles' music for publication. One of my favorites is "There's A Whole Lot of People Going Home" - I think that's the correct title.

You're right, Linda. The Blackwoods did a great job on that song. David was a fine piano player too. He was very talented. Also wrote Life is Worth Living and Love Like the Love of God.
