Jake Hess formed the Imperials in late 1963. He sang with them until his health forced his retirement from the group.

What was the last Imperials album that featured the voice of Jake Hess?

"New Dimensions" which came out just after Jake had left the group. He wrote the liner notes and sang on one song -- I Know Who It Is (and I'm Gonna Tell on Him) written by Roger Miller.

Norm, you're right as usual. . .

. . . and sorry to disturb your breakfast, Mark. Next time I'll post the Plainsmen in their "Lonely Street" clothes.

Easmon would say,

"Put that picture in your garden and it will make crows bring back corn they stole 30 years ago" :harp:

I am so glad that I was away from gospel music during that period. Those suits are so funny! What is that down at the bottom of their pants........cuffs?

I'm still laughing.......now, let's see those Plainsmen outfits.....lol.

I actually saw them one night wearing those clothes.

Wonder if the modern day Imps would like to take lessons from their predecessors? :rollinglaughing:
