HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – Dottie Leonard Miller, President and CEO of New Day Christian Distributors and CEO of Daywind Music Group and Daywind Music Publishing, is making waves in the music industry. She was recently named in Billboard® Magazine as one of the leading women shaping the music business today.

Other ladies mentioned were Susan Riley, who launched Fervent Records, and Lucy Hood, president of Fox Mobile Entertainment.

A fan of Gospel music her entire life, in 1978, Miller ventured into the business side of the industry, working at two Southern Gospel music labels handling Christian retail (CBA) sales and radio promotions. In 1981, Miller started New Day Christian Distributors to serve the CBA marketplace with superior music distribution services with a personal touch. Started in her garage, New Day grew rapidly and expanded in to its current campus location in Hendersonville, TN. New Day is a one-stop distributor of Christian entertainment and ministry products, including music, books, films and performance tracks.

In 1985, Miller and the late Ronnie Drake, founded Daywind Soundtracks. Currently featuring over 3,300 titles, it is the most prominent performance track line serving all genres of music. Miller created Daywind Music Group in 1988. The label has become home to such Southern Gospel greats as Greater Vision, the Crabb Family, the Perrys, Brian Free & Assurance, Legacy Five, Karen Peck & New River and many more, along with its Vital Communications label featuring the Christ Tabernacle Choir, Julian Drive and New Harvest.

Miller received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Southern Gospel Music Guild in 2005 and is a former director of the Gospel Music Association.
