pattipagewhite - November 7, 2006 01:28 PM (GMT)
Chiky's post about watching Christmas movies got me to wondering about favorites. I would love to know.....I think we did this once before, but it's almost Christmas again! Unbelievable!
Here's one of mine
Eloise at Christmastime
Kattie E - November 7, 2006 01:41 PM (GMT)

CanChik - November 7, 2006 10:33 PM (GMT)
The Bishop's Wife....and the new version, The Preacher's Wife....
The Santa Clause...
An Affair To Remember...cuz it ends on Christmas...
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation...
Jack Frost (with Michael Keaton)
I hesitate to admit this, but I am not a huge fan of "It's a Wonderful Life"...Jimmy Stewart is just a little annoying to me, lol...
grits64 - November 8, 2006 03:08 AM (GMT)
I have several..but one I never forget to watch that makes me laugh is
Ralphie in...A Christmas Story.
VirginiaJoe - November 8, 2006 05:32 AM (GMT)

"It's A Wonderful Life" is great.........just not as good as "White Christmas"
Kattie E - November 8, 2006 01:50 PM (GMT)
I like Christmas in Connecticut also, the original version
pattipagewhite - November 9, 2006 05:27 PM (GMT)
I'm glad you mentioned that one Kattie. I've never seen it and I want to be sure and try to find it this year.
pattipagewhite - November 12, 2006 09:07 PM (GMT)
I don't know if this is considered a Christmas movie or not, but it could be....it takes place at Christmas time..
The Shop Around The Corner with James Stewart and Margaret Sullavan....and that famous quote,
"Psychologically I'm very confused, but personally I don't feel bad at all".

oh yes, I like that one too Patti. Budapest was a odd setting for that movie, wasn't it? Did you know that the movie, "You've Got Mail" was made after that movie?
pattipagewhite - November 14, 2006 04:14 AM (GMT)
Oh yes Kattie....I love that one too...I always get a kick out of thinking about what a difference there is in the communication process....
I've also wondered why it was in Budapest. It is a lovely old movie though.
CanChik - November 15, 2006 01:04 AM (GMT)
We watched that again last night. Did you know that the main "boss" guy in there...Mr. Motuschek (not how you spell his name) is the Wizard in the original Wizard of Oz?
pattipagewhite - November 15, 2006 03:14 AM (GMT)
That's cool Chiky...now that I didn't know.....lol

Oh I just love Christmas Movies, Scrooge, Its a wonderful Life, Prancer, Miracle on 34th street the original.

Is there two versions? We picked it up last year and had never heard of it before. It's got a rather lame ending (the very end, where the guy is just laughing like he is drunk, lol), but it's a cute story. The one we have, has Barbara Stanwyck.

Yes, I have seen two versions. The original of course w/ Stanwyck and maybe the newer version was just for cable, I don't remember but it was terrible.

I also enjoy Jim Carrey's Grinch, it's cool...but a lot of the Christmas cartoons are fun too. There is one about a donkey that is just sad tho...Nestor I think it is...I refuse to watch that one...
pattipagewhite - November 19, 2006 02:26 AM (GMT)
What's the name of the one made for tv starring David James Elliott? It has something to do with a toy train and a little boy...I like that one.
CanChik - November 19, 2006 02:48 PM (GMT)
I don't know if I've seen that one Ms Patti...
Denise - November 20, 2006 03:20 AM (GMT)
I especially like Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer!....Kind of partial to Burl Ives... He grew up around here and my Grandma knew him when she was a child.
Bekahbird - November 20, 2006 03:53 AM (GMT)
Christmas Story hands down!!...lol...I have it on DVD.....lol....

I googled it Lor....it's Holiday Affair. I didn't realize it was a remake of an old Robert Mitchum movie. It's a good movie...you'd like it. The little boy's mother meets Elliott in the store where she works, but she's already engaged to a another guy....
CanChik - November 21, 2006 11:20 AM (GMT)
Awww yes Ms Patti I like those sappy romantic ones at Christmas. Actually, don't tell anyone, but I like them all year round, lololol... :crawl:
Kattie E - November 21, 2006 03:46 PM (GMT)
my all time fave is not really a movie but Charlie Browns Christmas....it closes with learning the real meaning of Christmas and shares it in such a lovely little way. I adore it.

I love the TV Christmas movies.......
The Christmas Shoes - with Rob Lowe
The Christmas Box - with Johnboy (no, not OUR Johnboy)
Ebbie - Susan Lucci (a take-off from Scrooge)
CanChik - November 23, 2006 01:26 AM (GMT)
Love Actually....ok, not for you who only watch G rated movies, but I like it, lol...
