Have you or would you pick up a hitchhiker?

I've never done it, and I've only picked up one hitchhiker. . . and that was because I knew him.

Nope.....I'm scared of both!

I haven't personally...but I have been in a car when someone else had...it scared me to death... :o

Well, I don't know if you can call them hitchhikers...... my friend and I used to pick up high school students, and college students who needed a ride to where they were going. (boys, of course) THEN, just a few years ago, while I was sitting at a stoplight, it was pouring down rain, and some guy jumped in my car. I was scared to death..... but he just wanted a ride to the grocery store, and wanted out of the rain. I didn't make him get out. I just prayed.

When I was a kid, it was common to hitchhike.....so, yeah, I did it a lot.

I'm always wanting to pick them up, but always resist. I did pick up a college student a couple of years ago, but he wasn't thumbing. It was pouring down rain, and he was soaked, so I stopped and offered him a ride. He didn't want to get in, because he was so wet, but I talked him into it.

Actually yes...once...I passed by an older lady, and it bothered me till I turned around and went by her...twice...then stopped to pick her up. A very eccentric woman, she was obviously down her luck, but she was very grateful. She had seen me go by, and asked why I stopped. I told her it was because she was around the same age as my mom and I'd hope that if my mom was ever that situation, that someone would pick her up. She told me that I was special because I thought with my heart and that not many did that...that I would have a good life because of it. It was almost a blessing the way she said it...I'd been going through a hard time with changing jobs and stuff, and it was almost as if she was an angel the Lord had placed in my path.

Yes. I was in Walgreens one day picking up a couple of things and bumped into this asian lady, we both said "I'm sorry" and went on. We ended up at the checkout line together. She followed me to my car which was parked close to doors and said she was sick and asked if I could drop her off at a pharmacy about 6 blocks up the street. It was on the way home so I said yes. My husband happened to be waiting in the car with our lil one and she got in the back seat.

I turned around in the front seat so I could talk to her and watch her. LOL We dropped her off and all was ok. Would I do it again? Common sense tells me no...but...

Thanks Joe, it was rather kind of cool...I wondered after if she was an angel...

But frankly, hitchhikers scare me too, lol.
