I saw this group at one of the first concerts I ever attended. The Imperials are a big reason I began to love gospel musicl

After seeing them on TV in 1971 backing Jimmy Dean and doing a solo on He Touched Me (either Merv Griffin or Mike Douglas show), i wanted to see them in person. They did come to Toronto a few months later as part of the Pat Boone Show but they got to do at least 20 minutes by themselves. I later saw them on their own many times after Sherman Andrus replaced Wiles. Great Group.
I finally remembered Joe's last name -- Moscheo.

For pure male quartet harmony, JH and the Imperials were tops. Oh those wonderful Henry Slaughter arrangements. He was quoted as saying this was the only group he ever worked with without a weakness!!

It was quite a group........arguably the best singer at each spot in the quartet, at the time, with Sherrill, Jake, Gary and Armond.
