Let me see now. Could it have been Jim Hill? No, I know that's not right. Musta been J.D. Sumner.

I don't remember the name of the bass singer, but it could be that JD sometimes hired another bass singer to sit back stage to hit the really low notes, so that it would sound like JD could hit all those very low notes on the endings. If he really did this, wonder who it would have been? :whistling:

FYI, just in case you wanted to know, my dad went to college with Donnie Sumner.

Well, I believe there is a low pressure system coming in. The fishing has been real slow today. Not even a bite. Now that Wednesday is almost over I'm coming back to my senses. It wasn't JD who had someone else to hit the notes for him. I got my wires crossed. I must have been thinking about the time Andy had that old guy with the low voice sing from backstage for Barney Fife. Don't know how I could have mixed up JD with Barney Fife, except they were both unforgettable. I don't think they sang from backstage, but JDS & the Stamps did have a couple of other good bass singers, Richard Sterban and Larry Strickland, who did some bass singing to give JD a break. :)
