Description: Harvest time

The Harvesters Quartet has always been known for having some of the greatest pianists in the business. From their first pianist, David Reece, to their last pianist, Earl Brewer, all of their keyboard men have been top shelf!

Most people think that Jack Clark replaced their original pianist, David Reece. However, there were a couple of others that sat at the bench before Jack's long tenure with the quartet.

Who were they?

I found this quote in an online article. I don't know how accurate it is. It could be full of errors for all I know.

If it is correct then credit should go to whoever wrote it. :babyha:

QUOTE
The Harvesters have boasted one the finest trio of pianists of any group in the history of gospel music with David Reece, Jack Clark, and Earl Brewer among the alumni of the keyboards. Phil Ross and Gary Trussler also had short stints with the Harvesters at the piano.

I started not to quote this but:

" To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism;
to steal from many is research."

Was GAry Trussler one?

You're both correct. Guess your "source" was correct, Mark.

Here's a picture of the Harvesters with Gary Trussler.

I`ll agree with Professor Adkins that Gary Trussler was one, and also add Phil Ross.

Who is the bass singer in that last photo? It looks a little like Calvin Runyon, I think.

longtimer - December 28, 2006 05:56 PM (GMT)
Phil Ross was not only a good key board guy, he was also a good singer... multi-talented like Mr. Brewer...

JohnCBoy - December 28, 2006 07:56 PM (GMT)
I don't know Phil Ross. . . had never heard of him. Thanks, longtimer, for your insight about him.

That bass singer is Fred Rose.
