Title: Reserved Leader/Upset Queen
Kat - May 19, 2005 07:42 PM (GMT)
She was silent as she was led between two droid guards, reserved and as diginfied as possible. She imagined she was being led to her fate, or else to the fate of her people. This was something she would not be responsible for, she told herself firmly. She would give herself up to save her people.
This brave girl was Queen Aimee Alcina of New Alderaan. She was only 15 years old, but the council had agreed she would make a fine ruler. She had been the top of her senate classes, and it was something her father, the previous senator, had always wanted for her. But several months after she stepped into office, trouble arose.
The Empire had taken over New Alderaan, and now she was waiting to see what they would do with her, and her fair planet....what did they have planned? She just didn't understand....her planet was usually so peaceful, never really stepping into political matters unless really needed.
Why did the Empire want her planet?
Tiberius - May 20, 2005 09:40 AM (GMT)
Commodore Tiberius Berse stood in the former throne room on New Alderaan as Tie fighters screamed across the sky above in parade formations. The planet was under the Empire's control, he had excuted his orders to the letter. Above his attcak group hung in orbit like carrion crows over a corpse whilst the troops they had disgorged were currently rounding up the population and crushing the last breaths of any resistance. Tiberius smiled, it had been easier than he thought the inavasion was going to be. Then again no Jedi had been found or shown themselves which gave a mild concern to the commodore but nothing more. The sound of boots on the marble floors brought Tiberius' attention back down to he planet.
The Queen of New Alderaan was being marched down the corridor she had once held all control over between two bulky guard droids. As she past each alcove, instead of her guards stood the Stormtroopers of Tiberius's guard slammed their feet in attention against the valuable floor. The queem tried to not look nervous but Tiberious couyld snes it form here, no force powers were necessary for this simple character veiwing, not that he had any. As the Queen was brought to a stop before Tiberius, he saluted her from his postion on the raised paltform that sat her throne. "Welcome Queen Alcina," He said politely and waited from her response.
Kat - May 20, 2005 03:33 PM (GMT)
She raised her head and stared at him defiantly, speaking in a cold and defiant tone. "Commodore." she acknowledged coldly. Her blue eyes began searching the room, for any hopes of escape. But it seemed all of her hidden safety precautions were being guarded, even though the droids didn't realize they were there.
She turned her attention back to him now. "What is the meaning of all this Commodore? It was certainly a wrong move on the part of the Empire. The Republic will come to our aid."
Tiberius - May 21, 2005 04:09 PM (GMT)
Tiberius smiled coldly as she scanned the room with despair in her eyes, he looked down at her. "The Republic?" he sneered,"Is too concerned with its own petty rivalry to even consider your planet's fall as an issue!" Tiberius took a step forward, down off the plinth before continuing, "If they do come to save your planet it is already too late and if they did they would be simply throwing ships to the void!" He laughed at her before turning to meet her eyes again, "Look around you. If the Republic cared about your planet they would have responded to those pathetic cries for help when my attack group arrived in system!" He snapped coldly.
Tiberius shook his head and took a step back, "Your hope in the Rebel scum is impressive but a useless gesture none the less." Tiberius turned to walk back on the plinth but stopped and half turned back to the Queen, "I believe you asked me why the Empire had invaded. The answer is simple, it could be seen as a test if you like. It was test to see if the Republic would react to an invasion of one of the planet's they're supposed to protect and they failed you. Also the addition of anotehr planet and its resources is always a good addition to the Galactic Empire," Tiberius said as another cold smile crept across his lips, he let her see it before he turned away. "Sergeant, form your squad in as i want her carried back to her cell in the manner she deserves," Tiberius said cooly to a stormtrooper bearing the squad leader's markings. "Yes sir!" was the dehumanised reply from the armoured man as he signalled for his squad to falling in an escort formation. Tiberius stood back to watch as the Queen seemed to shrink was teh large whit armoured figures stood around her. The droids disppeared and were replaced by two impassive stormtroopers. Tiberius stood watching her reactions before he gave the order to have he thrown into her cell until she was required again.
Kat - May 21, 2005 09:47 PM (GMT)
The young Queen listened, quiet and cold the whole time, listening to him speak. She glanced at the two troopers, then turned her attention back to the Commodore. "You've won round one. But that is all you shall win." she replied in a strong voice.
She would not put up a fight against the troopers. She would go in a dignified manner. She would not show them her fear.
Tiberius - May 26, 2005 08:40 AM (GMT)
Tiberius gave a dimissive wave of a gloved hand, and the troopers either side of the Queen grabbed her arms forcefully but not to marked her skin. "Farewell Queen Aimee Alcina. I'm afraid that it is unlikely we will speak again soon," he said as a chillig smile crept on his lips. The Stormtroopers then marched her about and back down the corridor towards her uncertain fate.
"Sir! We have a signal!" said a young looking officer bringing Tiberius's attention to him and the data slate in his hand. Tiberius took the slate and quickly read the contents. "Inform Captian Hellois to relay my return signal," Tiberius reply as he quickly walked from the throne room and out through a concealed door. Tiberius entered a empty hidden commications room. A quickly scann of the panels ensured all was working. The holopad suddenly shivered into life as Tiberius knelt down, his head bowed as a figure appaered on the holopad. "Empress, what is it you wish from me?" Tiberius said as he knelt on the floor waiting for her commands.
Kat - May 26, 2005 07:35 PM (GMT)
The young queen glared, but chills ran down her spine when he smiled at her. Just what did he plan on doing to her? Surely they wouldn't kill her....wouldn't they need her later on? She made no moves to fight the troopers...she wouldn't be able to get away from them.
The Empress watched him, raising a thin eyebrow behind her cloak. "You have not contacted me recently Commodore. What is going on at New Alderaan?" she questioned
Amaurea - May 28, 2005 05:35 PM (GMT)
Rithen decided he didn't like using the ventilation systems.
The Padawan Jedi suppressed a sneeze with great effort. He was on his stomach, cramped in the tiny metal passageway that that was the ventilation shaft for the New Alderaan palace. The dust was irritating him. His master, Nammon Rin, gave a sternly apprehensive look as he raised an eyebrow to his apprentice. Rithen's face screwed up and his muscles tensed, but after a second he slowly exhaled. The urge to sneeze had faded. Satisfied, Nammon looked down through the slits of the vent. Below them was a clean, empty hallway. Occasionally a storm trooper would pass below, but the Jedi went unnoticed. No one ever looked up. And Queen Aimee Alcina didn't need to worry quite as much as she was.
Because eloquent and cunning though he was, Commodore Tiberius was wrong.
The Republic had been informed of the invasion of New Alderaan. And they had not ignored it. But the damage had been done, and it would take a whole fleet to clear out the mess of Imperial forces that was lingering above New Alderaan's atmosphere. But their first concern was New Alderaan's leader. When a leader was lost their people were also. They had to retrieve the Queen and get her to safety. So who did they call? Why, two very capable Jedi, of course.
The Master and Padawan duo that was Nammon Rin and Rithen Shakran was one of the Jedi Council's favorites. Nammon's calm, clear wisdom and experience perfectly balanced with Rithen's youth and skilled energy. The two could know exactly what the other was thinking and act on it. Rithen trusted his master completely, and Nammon was confident in Rithen's abilities. Presently Rithen turned his brown eyes back up to his master, who was crouched in a hunched kneeling position. Nammon felt his Padawan's gaze and looked back up. He knew what Rithen was silently asking. How much longer? Nammon raised a hand as if to say, 'Soon. Just wait.' Rithen brushed his messy chestnut hair from his eyes. Once again he was in awe of his master's undying patience. The Jedi had managed to fly through the Imperial forces easily enough by using a stolen Imperial fighter. They had then quickly made their way into hiding, melting into underground passageways and crawling through the ventilation system until Nammon had confidently told his Padawan, "Here." He knew the Queen would be taken through this hallway. So the Jedi had waited there for the better part of an hour. Nammon seemed unfazed, but Rithen was being plagued by muscle cramps.
Then they saw what they were looking for: Two Stormtroopers escorting a young red-haired queen. Nammon waited until they were three paces from being directly under the shaft. Then with a nod Nammon gave his apprentice the signal. With a quick burst of the Force, the grate of the shaft was blown from its hinges and clattered to the floor below. The two Jedi dropped easily through the opening, first Nammon then Rithen, and their lightsabers hummed to life. Each gave one strike and rid the Queen of her captors. Then they both gave a calm bow and Nammon spoke. "Your highness," he said. "I am Nammon Rin and this is my apprentice Rithen. We're here to take you to join the Republic fleet."
As Nammon spoke Rithen kept an eye out. Tiberius was sure to have more Stormtroopers patrolling the area.
Kat - May 28, 2005 08:24 PM (GMT)
The queen blinked at them curiously, glancing down at the four pieces of stormtrooper around her. Inside, she was disgusted, but she didn't show it. She bowed her head to the two Jedi. "I thank you for rescuing me, Jedi Knights. But I will not go to join the Republic fleet. I will not leave my people." she said firmly. Aimee Alcina was known for her firm decisions, decisions she would not be wavered from.
"If I can free my people from the concentration camps, we can put up an attack against the Empire. But I will not leave New Alderaan until then."
Amaurea - May 28, 2005 11:52 PM (GMT)
Rithen pursed his lips and looked to his master. Nammon straightened, looking at the young queen. Rithen could tell that his master was churning thoughts in his head. Their orders were to save the queen and take her away from danger. Nammon usually followed orders. Usually. Though when concerning Nammon and Rithen the Jedi Council had now gotten used to just telling them what needed to be done and they would trust the two to figure out how to do it. They tended to do things the way they saw fit anyway. But in this case Rithen knew Nammon would prefer to take Queen Aimee away now and come back with help later. As soon as possible, but...later. "Your highness," Nammon began again, "If you wish to help your people you must first help yourself. You are their leader and they need you alive. If you will please come with us we can meet with the Republic fleet and organize an attack to free your people. But please, come with us."
Kat - May 29, 2005 12:15 AM (GMT)
"I do not plan on giving up that easily. And with your help, I'm sure I'll be fine. My decision is firm, Jedi Masters. You would have to drag me out to get me to leave." she replied, watching them carefully, folding her arms.
Amaurea - May 29, 2005 03:34 PM (GMT)
At that moment she had better believe the two Jedi were seriously considering doing so. Rithen wouldn't have minded but Nammon was too much of a gentleman. "Your highness we are only two Jedi. We alone cannot do such a thing," he insisted.
Kat - May 29, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
She tilted her head, examining the two for a moment before speaking again. "Well then, you best hurry back to your base and invite your friends back. But I'm staying here." She shrugged. "Don't expect to change my mind. Nobody's been successful in doing so for a long time."
Tiberius - May 31, 2005 10:31 AM (GMT)
"Empress, the planet is yours to command as you wish. The Queen is..." A beep from a comlink stopped Tiberius completing the sentence. He risked a glance at it and regretted it. "The Queen has just appeared to have escaped." Tiberius bowed his head waited for the Empress to respond.
Meanwhile, Tiberius quick reply to the message, a click on the link was being carried out. Stormtroopers flooded into the palace and a shuttle was streaking down ftom the orbiting fleet. Jedi, it could have only been Jedi to break free the Queen. Tiberius knew how to deal with Jedi and had the means to do it. A team of Jedi hunters was en route to the planet to ensure that neither the queen nor the Jedi left it alive.
Kat - May 31, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
"She has ESCAPED? This is bad news for you, Commodore. If you do not catch her, it will be your head. She must NOT leave New Alderaan. Our plans will unravel without her here." She folded her arms, waiting for his response.
Tiberius - June 18, 2005 11:04 AM (GMT)
"Of course, Empress. She will not leave the planet, and even if she made it off the surface she won't be able to leave the system. The interdictor Restrainer has arrived in system and the Compellor is already on station. My troops will rip the planet apart to find her. She will be recaptured!" Tiberius said to the glowering holofigure of his Empress.
Meanwhile outside the shuttle had landed and figures in black armour marched out, each suit incorporating a vital living component, a Ysalamir. Each of the armours waerers where expert fighter and with the craeture they removed the Jedis greatest ally, the force. The Jedi on the planet were doomed as theese harded veterans got to work, one purpose burned into their minds, kill the Jedi!
Amaurea - June 27, 2005 06:03 AM (GMT)
Rithen saw a muscle in his master's jaw flinch. The Jedi tapped into his patience reserves once more and addressed the Queen camly and politely. "Your Highness, I must implore you to trust us. We can bring you to meet with the Republic fleet and there you can inform them of the technicalities of the situation here on New Alderaan. Your information will help them better organize an attack--" He broke off suddenly, which was rather unlike Nammon to do. His gaze snapped up and he frowned, looking about the hallway.
There had been, as they say, a disturbance in the Force.
Rithen felt it as well, and the young Padawan tensed. Something was coming...something bad. He was not as skilled as his master in the ways of the Force, and so he was not sure exactly what it was. He did know it would mean trouble. "Master....we don't have time for this..."
((OOC: OMB I live...sorry guys >_< My muse died and I had to bury him and dig him back up again.))
Kat - June 27, 2005 04:25 PM (GMT)
The young Queen had been watching Nammon speak, convinced that she wouldn't be going anywhere. She knew their words would not convince her to leave...but then Nammon stopped, and his apprentice seemed more alert as well. She blinked, glancing down the hallway, wondering what they were looking for. "What's wrong?" she asked, slowly.
She sensed a little something too, but didn't think much of it. Lately, she had been feeling and sensing some odd things. She wasn't sure what they were, but hadn't been paying much attention to them at all...
Amaurea - June 27, 2005 05:01 PM (GMT)
The Jedi were silent for a moment, as though they had not heard the Queen speak. Their eyes gazed off, not truely looking at anything. Rather they were sifting through the Force, trying to get an idea of what was coming.
After a few seconds, Nammon had a good idea of what it was.
Again he turned to Queen Aimee. "Your Highness, I understand why you do not wish to leave your people. I would feel the same way. However, my apprentice and I are not leaving this planet unless you are with us. So if you stay, we must do the same. And I fear if we do not act now the situation will very quickly become far more dangerous than it already is. For all of us."
Kat - June 27, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
She listened to his warning, then sighed, pondering over her options. Finally, she raised her hands in defeat. "Fine then. I shall accompany you to seek out help. But you must promise me, we'll recieve it quickly. My people won't last long in the hands of the Empire." she replied in as calm a voice as she could muster.
Amaurea - June 27, 2005 10:28 PM (GMT)
Relief filled Rithen as the Queen finally agreed. A grin spread across his face and Nammon gave a respectful bow of his head. "You have my word, Your Highness. Now come," he said gently. He raised a hand to usher her along. The Jedi began leading her swiftly down the hallway.
Kat - June 27, 2005 11:28 PM (GMT)
She reluctantly allowed them to lead her off, and she glanced around the halls, wondering if this would be the last time she ever saw them. No, she wouldn't think like that. She had confidence in the Republic...she hoped they would come to New Alderaan's aide. As she strode down the hallway, she, un-noticed, patted a hidden pocket in her dress, making sure her blaster was still hidden there....just in case.
Tiberius - July 1, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
A blaster bolt richocheted down the corridor causing the queen to duck as it whined over head. A squad of stormtroopers had found her and the jedi and was aming its intentions clear, stop or be killed. Comm links quickly relayed the contact back to Tiberius and those he charged with the hunt. At the far end of the corridor sinster black armoured figures moved quickly to intercept the rebel group, force weapons drawn and crackling with energy, the time to fight or flee rapidly approaching.
Kat - July 1, 2005 11:43 PM (GMT)
When the Queen ducked the bolt, she whipped out her blaster, sending a shot in the direction of that who shot at her. "I think we have company!" she called to the jedi, pointing down the hall with her blaster. "If you have a plan, lets execute it!"
Amaurea - July 3, 2005 03:52 AM (GMT)
The Jedi froze as their enemies appeared, the blaster bolt shrieking past Nammon's head. The Jedi master barely blinked. Rithen tensed for a moment but then made himself relax as Nammon had taught him. Stormtroopers and...Ysalamir fighters.
This was not good.
But Nammon remained calm, and in turn so did his apprentice. "Your Highness, stay behind us," he warned gently. The Jedi's lightsabers found their hands and hummed to life once more, poised to deflect blaster fire and defend against the black hunters.
Kat - July 3, 2005 04:00 AM (GMT)
Aimee tensed, lowering her blaster, stepping behind the Jedi. She kept an eye on their backsides, making sure nothing was coming from behind. When and if she saw anything, she was quick to shoot them down. "Well, what now?"
Amaurea - July 3, 2005 04:27 AM (GMT)
Rithen's jaw tensed and he glanced back at the Queen. She was an eager one, wasn't she? But it was Nammon who spoke. "Patience, Your Highness. Right now you will trust us."
Kat - July 3, 2005 04:31 AM (GMT)
"More will come. We'll be outnumbered. We won't be able to escape." she said, frowning. The Jedi were too patient for her liking. Every moment wasted, was every moment her people were in danger.
Tiberius - August 31, 2005 11:43 PM (GMT)
The strormtoopers fanned out as they advanced down the corridor. Their white armour contrtasting with the black armour of the Ysalamir fighters as their blasters sweeped the corridor. The lead trooper stopped as movement crossed his view, and quickly informed the rest with a report over his commlink.
The black armoured figures took the lead as they leaped forward, a stench of ozone filling the corridor as energy weaposn cracked into life. Energy swords and shields burst into existance as they charged their hated enemy. The first charged into the senior looking one whilst the rest pilled into the apprentice. Waves of skill and hatred flowed through the fighters as they attacked forcing the jedi back, as they brought the time for the prey to be caught in the ever closing trap.
